Rod Hooks

All O’ Bannon hoisting tools are designed for ease of operation under all conditions or temperature extremes. Electric steel alloy castings are heat treated for optimum strength and hardness, every shank, body and bail is magnaflux tested. Capacity ratings are determined by tensile strength testing. The API rating applied to each tool is based upon API Specification 8C.

Frontlock Hooks
Frontlock Hooks the automatic locking mechanism on O’Bannon Frontlock Hooks is as easy to open as your hand. Half concealed in the shank of the hook is a lever, which releases the latch only when the hook is gripped to engage or disengage the elevator bail. The latch is hinged just above this point and extends across the mouth of the hook. It is strong enough to ward off beams and girts, yet sensitive enough to respond instantly to the grip of the operator.
For those operators who prefer, the Regular hook is supplied with a guard over the latch (cast as an integral part of the shank).

Bearings
The main bearing in the Frontlock hook is a heavy-duty ball thrust type, fully enclosed to keep out dirt. It is easily lubricated through a shielded zerk fitting.
